{"id":622,"date":"2011-06-22T11:46:07","date_gmt":"2011-06-22T15:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/czarviz.com\/infusionstudios3d\/?p=622"},"modified":"2025-02-28T12:13:25","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T17:13:25","slug":"the-mind-blowing-work-of-levi-van-veluw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/czarviz.com\/infusionstudios3d\/index.php\/the-mind-blowing-work-of-levi-van-veluw\/","title":{"rendered":"The Mind Blowing Work of Levi van Veluw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.escapestudios.co.uk\/blog\/profile\/Miles-Pettit\/\">Miles Pettit&#8217;s<\/a> recent blog post <a href=\"http:\/\/www.escapestudios.co.uk\/is-3d-always-the-best-approach\/\">&#8220;Is 3D Always the Best Approach&#8221;<\/a> over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.escapestudios.co.uk\/\">Escape Studios<\/a> I was introduced to the brilliant, beautiful and mind blowing work of Dutch artist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.levivanveluw.nl\/\">Levi van Veluw<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>In a world where we are faced with a constant barrage of incredible CG imagery and animation it is exciting and refreshing to witness an amazing work created and performed in the physical world. At first glance I was convinced most if not all of Levi&#8217;s three part work &#8220;Origin of the Beginning&#8221;, or the documenting videos to more precise, had to be CG. The complexity of the character and environment coupled with the smooth camera work suggested no other possibility. Upon closer inspection I realized to my amazement this was 100% real. Not only that but these videos are simply documents representative of many live performance by Veluw. As you can see the installations take the form of a room within a room creating a startling contrast between the familiar and his work. I can only imagine what it would be like to walk into a gallery space and be presented with such a scene! I truly hope I will get a chance to see one of Levi&#8217;s performances in person.
